Duane D. Stewart, 89, of Mt. Prospect, passed away peacefully Friday, March 10, 2017. Beloved husband of Darlene Stewart for 66 years. Loving father of Sheri (the late Edward) Sands, Connie (Stephen) Hallberg, Kathy (Michael) Gillig. Cherished grandfather of Jason (Lauren) Stewart, Nicole Gillig, Heather and Shannon Hallberg, step-grandfather of Michael (Laura) Sands, Dawn (Jack) Zacharuk. Dear brother of Jim (the late Twila) Kerr. Fond uncle and great-grandfather of many.
Duane was born August 21, 1927 in South Dakota.
Served his country proudly in the Navy during WWII.
Worked for 42 years in Chicago for Continental Grain.
Parishioner and usher at St. Raymond de Penafort Church in Mt. Prospect for over 40 years.
Visitation Tuesday, 3:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. (at Northwest Highway) Mt. Prospect. Visitation Wednesday 9:00 A.M. until Mass 10:00 A.M. at St. Raymond de Penafort Church, Main St. (Rt. 83) at Lincoln St. Mt. Prospect. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
